Both sports are played as professions, in schools, and just for fun. Basketball and baseball are sports that are very much alike and very much different in numerous ways. There are many reasons on how these sports are alike. One reason would be that Basketball and Baseball both involve teams. They are both sports that involve team leadership and also sportsmanship.
It's a great stress reliever because I usually play it with my friends and it takes my mind off everything and makes me happy. Sometimes if I've been in the house too long I'll take my basketball and go to my hoop I in the back yard and do a couple layups. Lasting I love computer games, not many people know my alter ego but I'm a computer nerd. I play games like league of legends, path of exile, minecraft, hammerwatch, and many MANY more. Anyways video games are probably the best stress reliever for me even though basketball may be my favorite because it's like you can be in that alternate reality when you play them.
Both men had different upbringings which drove them to succeed, one authoritarian and the other pride in oneself. Both of these men became involved in basketball through the military, which in and of itself is a coercive power and a legitimate power. So it is no wonder that both have powers in common. The leadership perspectives that I found present in both coaches were a desire to lead, self-confidence, cognitive ability, and knowledge of the business. Both coaches used these perspectives in different ways however.
I believe that in most sports such as basketball, to outplay your opponent, one has to commit himself/herself to doing whatever that needs to be done, in order to win the game. However, I believe that basketball players, especially during the critical and “heated” moments of the matchup, act with passion and not aggression. In other words, I believe that basketball players do not drive to the basket at full speed and force, commit fouls, and overall play extremely hard-nosed offense and defense as acts of aggression but more so as results of their passion for the game. Passion is “a strong inclination toward an activity that one likes, finds important, and in which one invests a significant amount of time and energy” (Donahue, Rip, Vallerand 2007:526). If basketball is someone’s passion as an activity, then that means that they enjoy the process of the game, the result or outcome of the game is also of importance to them, and they devote themselves to being involved and demonstrating effort throughout their participation in the activity.
Baseball and the art behind it Courtney HUM 266 4-6-2011 Joseph Blomer Baseball and the art behind it The Sandlot is unlike most other kid’s sports movies since it's not ultimately about winning the big game. Baseball is presented in this movie as a way of life for these small-town kids, a path for them to follow as they imitate the great heroes of the baseball. As an alternative to seeing the kids influenced by pushy adults, boosting them to win the game at all costs, instead this story focuses on the personal growth of the kids, and how they use teamwork learned through baseball to attempt solve their problems. As the story advances, the scenes become increasingly more extravagant, as these kids try scheme after scheme to recover the valuable baseball hit over the fence. Writer/director David Mickey Evans bounces the film with some great summertime amusement that stresses the fabulous nature of the sport of baseball and uses it as a metaphor for the coming of age subjects common to all young people.
The game of basketball is a sport that is very difficult to master. There are many ways that you can be a good basketball player. You can be a superb scorer, a fancy dribbler, a dominant man in the middle, but the most important aspect of the game is putting the ball into the basket. Shooting is the most important part in basketball and today I will show how to have proper shooting form. There are thirteen points on how to shoot a basketball, but I can sum it up for you all in about eight easy steps.
Almost, all the time, he is going to be the best infielder with his glove and arm. Shortstops have to be very good because they get a lot of balls hit to them. They sometimes have to make plays on balls hit in the holes. The shortstop is the “general” on the infield. He has priority over all the infielders.
Though anyone can make a set the designated player to take the second ball is called the Setter. Hit/kill Of course every sport has rules, so I will now discuss my last topic involving the rules that volleyball players must adhere to. Rules- As hard as it is to believe, volleyball is not as easy as it may seem. Because of this, there are many ball handling errors, foot faults, and rotational errors that take place. When any of these calls are made, a point is rewarded to the opposing team.
Having a fixed dollar amount for a league helps weaker or smaller teams compete better with the larger ball clubs. A sports team shouldn’t be decided on how much money a team has, yet it should be decided on how much talent the team has. In the NBA for example, considering that all teams have the same amount to spend on player salaries, the teams should be more evenly matched; this makes for better and more exciting games. Player salaries take a large chunk out of the team’s expenditures in the first place; paying the players even more would take so much away from the team. The teams have less money for promotions, advertising, and field or court maintenance.
Physically, playing basketball can increases body coordination and reflex which consequently allows a person to have a quicker reaction as well as a lesser time needed to coordinate the body to assemble movements. This can be useful in real life situations. For instance, when you are crossing a road and an automobile is about to hit you; you can dodge it, and prevent getting hit if you react quick enough. Secondly, basketball enforces discipline. It is not commonly known that such aggressive sport would require a first class discipline.
