Banyan trees are one of the most beautiful trees in Florida, even though they are a native tree of India. What makes this tree so unique? According to Wikipedia.org in Hinduism, they believe the leaf of the banyan tree is a resting place for god. Banyan trees are known for their massive branches, roots, and trunks. Also, they are notorious for their long life cycle. One of the first things you might notice about this wonderful tree is its extensive branches. The branches are wide spread and cover large areas. Sitting underneath one you may feel as if there is a large green canopy covering over you protecting from the sunlight. In the same way many people use this shade as a time to relax and meditate. In fact, if you have ever driven down a road with banyan trees? You may feel as though you are driving through a tunnel. Indeed, these vast branches have even been mistaken for a small forest. Also, another wonder of the banyan tree is its unique root system. It’s remarkable how these roots connect and support each branch. Their thick, solid root allows the tree to grow longer and wider. Therefore, it’s easy to feel lost not knowing where the tree root begins and ends. With each twine reaching to the ground and connecting with earth, and forms a dense root, this allows the tree to grow to an enormous size. Lastly, what about the trunk, the foundation of this great tree? The banyan trunk has a very distinguishing look since it doesn’t have one trunk, but many. Indeed, it looks as if many trees are joined together working to hold the beautiful masterpiece together. Incidentally, some banyans even have a hole in their trunk, and give shelter to small animals. Banyans can be mind-blowing to look at. They are known for their beauty and vast size. In other words, it’s incredible how every part of the tree works in unity to create its colossal greatness.
