Think of another time when you had to contact your parents for an emergency but you didn’t know their number and your phone had their number but you couldn’t use your phone because of the school policy. Think of another time when you had a guy with some weapon who have entered your school and you needed to contact the cops and the school for your and other’s safety. These are some reasons cell phones could change students life. Mobile phones are a safety feature in a world that has become unsafe and unfriendly especially to children. How many adults feel safer knowing they have a cell phone in their hands, not simply for talking to friends, but to keep them safe.
As long as the student remembers to do so, their phone will not cause a distraction in class. In the argument by Kornblum says, Most schools ban talking and texting in the classrooms. But that does not 2 stop everyone. Through phone calls that require talking, texting can be done
Cell Phones or No Phones: Should Students Have Phones at School Imagine you just got a new phone and you can’t wait to take it to school. You get to school and you get into a class that you don’t like very much so you try to hurry to do all your work. You take your phone out to text your best friend and you don’t see your teacher walking by. You see your teacher and you hurry to put your phone away but it drops onto the floor and the screen shatters. Would you risk texting and break your brand new phone while doing it?
Because they have their own business in school or after-school, they reject to stop their extracurricular instead to do more homework. So how to influence them to change their mind? In other word, how to let their performance same as the “A” students. Probably a lot of parents would say “No!”. Of course they can, the “C” students have same ability as the “A” students.
Cell Phones in School By Jack Wallace There is a lot of controversy with school administrations whether cell phones should be allowed in schools by students. Cell phones are not just for calling and texting, but mini-computers with access to information and technology to write documents, reports and even print. Cell phones also provide calculators and calendars (calendars help to keep track of projects, assignments and other school related functions). There are a lot of pros and cons to this debate of cell phones in school, I personally feel that cell phones should be allowed in school as part of a learning resource. Some of the pros that will be discussed are research, safety, during and after school use.
Like they say this book is going to teach my child to jaywalk, but jaywalking happens all the time and adults do it and kids just copy it not from a book. I also think its just parents that are over protective of their kids and they don’t want the kids to learn something bad from a book. But the student/kids are going to find out sooner then later right so what’s the point to ban these books? Parents should just talk to their kids and ask if they would like to read it because like it’s not there fault if the kid does something bad just because of the book. It is the kids fought that he/she does it or not.
Kids learn how to do most things from their parents, so if their parents are doing it, they’re going to do it. “Not just their parents, but adults in general are telling them not to text and drive, but then they’re getting on their BlackBerrys and doing it themselves,” Brands said. It’s said that texting and driving is worse than drunk driving. How is that possible? Studies have shown that people thinking texting and driving won’t do any damage.
(Pros and Cons, 2012) For high school graduates, commuting from home appears to them as a disadvantage. The graduates who believe that to be a disadvantage ask themselves, am I too close to home? Or, do I feel like I am still in high school? Most community colleges do not provide housing for students. (MD, 2012) Instead, they gear toward the needs of commuter students.
Extending the school day may do more harm than good. Secondly, a major reason why the school day should not be extended two hours for students to get help on their homework is simply because of the fact that they do not all need it. Many kids like to work at their own pace and should have the option of getting help or not. Kids that need help go to after school tutorial, but the school should not enforce that all students must stay longer. Another reason to support this idea is because students do not always need two hours to do their homework.
Although laws are being passed to prevent cyber bullying on school property, it is still occurring because of many educators that feel unprepared or unwilling to handle these situations. Some are unsure of the extent of their authority. School district discipline codes often say little about incidents that occur over student cell phones, home computers and off-campus speech because the majority of the instances will occur after school is let out
