I found the article written by Hidayah Aziz and Humairah Fisol was very informative and useful for our nation. Although many of the ideas they presented I agreed with, there were also a few points that I'd like to argue against. First I would like to do some review on the title of this article: The Growing Social Problem of Baby-Dumping. What is baby-dumping? Baby-dumping is where the infants were being found in rivers, dustbins, and even sometimes somewhere that we cannot imagine such as travelling bags. These babies are died in the situation that cannot be accepted by most of the people as the ways of killing these babies are too cruel and cold-blooded. This issues were become a hot potatoes among our Malaysian nowadays. I agreed with the writers statement that saying the over abundance and accessibility of pornography today may be the causes of baby-dumping. In my opinion, this statement is very true because the easy accessibility of pornography everywhere made the teenagers’ to adopt with the immoral scenes which trigger them to be involved in negative activities. Finally it end up with pregnancies and lead to baby-dumping cases. There were statements of Federal CID director Datuk Seri Bakri Zinin in The Star newspaper saying that “widespread access to pornography and weakened family ties have led to an increase in baby dumping in the past five years”. Thus, I believe pornography is one of the factors of baby-dumping. Meanwhile the writers said that “New Year and Valentine’s Day celebrations are asserted of encouraging immoral activities like free sex”. Even though it seems don’t make any sense, but somehow we need to accept it. I feel that this statement could be acceptable because nowadays most of the teenagers were easily cajoled into having unmarried sex because they were naive.
