Divorce is a huge topic a lot of parents think about when they feel that there spouse is no longer compatible with them and also the fact that it’s not working out for reason only they will know. It may just be the fact that two people that were deeply in love just feel out of it because of no connection anymore. In the article “Just Whom Is This Divorce” Good” For? Written by Elizabeth Marquart talks about how divorce can cause children even from a good divorce go through it there selves when they get older, children also feel that they are to blame for their parents getting divorced and they lose all interest for other things, there is also a lot of controversy about which parent gets which day can just lead up to a huge custody battle for most.
If your child wants to protect themselves whether it’s from getting pregnant or whatever it may be, why stop them. They are being responsible for their own actions and body. In conclusion, if a teen feels mature enough about making the decision to have sex they should be mature enough to be safe and responsible about it. Teens don’t feel comfortable asking their parents for these types of things so I think it’s good for birth control to be accessed without parent consent. It won’t only help to protect the teens, but it will help other heath issues to.
When a life changing incident happens, like a parent going to prison, this can also affect the relationship between kids. Other children don’t understand why there friend is always down, never confides in them anymore and never wants to go out and do things. This “phenomenon” is of concern because teenage mothers are reported to be “disadvantaged financially, educationally, and cognitively” in both the short and long term span. Many teenage mothers find strength in their motherhood role but this does not come without cost to themselves or their children, as many teenagers are considered unsuitable to be parents and do not have the right support (B.).
“Bullying is a big problem that effects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on it’s receiving end” (Lyness 1). Bullying does not just affect kids, but the parents too. It affects the parents because a lot of their children begin to be afraid attending school. In the novel Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, Melinda was affected by being bullied lead her to think about suicide, scared of coming to school, and victims like Melinda begin to not care about school and fail. Melinda was affected by being bullied and led to many things and one of them is thinking about suicide.

Nothing is more serious and personal than your health, and teens don’t seem to be able to grasp the gravity of the situation. Teens are bombarded with sex education, and yet have the highest STD rates in the country.
Just like children abused by their parents that in fact grow up to be abusive themselves. Kass says that children of divorce “have had no successful models to imitate” (229) and in fact “enter into relationships guardedly and tentatively” (230). Children of divorce enter a relationship looking for red flags up front and when things get difficult they never had anything in which to compare their situation. “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going;”…LITERALLY!
