Before she would never tell Atticus to carry a gun but she is aware of how bad the world can be, and wants to be prepared for it. Scout just was as a kid who did what see wanted without think. But now, Scout learns to prepare for the world around her, she learns that it is not a pretty place. Scout's most important and notable change is how she thinks of others. She changes from someone who judges people without knowing them into someone who walks around in a persons skins' before judging.

Sternheimer feels not enough emphasis has been given to other issues such as “social rejection and depression” (206). She also brings our attention to information on statistical evidence. Sternheimer believed it to be “controversial” and feels it “exclude[s] a host of other factors” (207). There are many schools who think that Catcher is a bad influence on teens however it is quite the opposite. The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger should not be banned from schools because teenagers can learn from Holden’s mistakes and teens are mature enough to tell wrong from right. Many parents are appalled and think that the book should be banned because of the profanity, teenage sex, and other inappropriate behaviors. However, there is a reason to all his misbehavior.

We all know that kids go around our back to parties and have a few drinks with friends but not many parents will stop this. This is not good, this is what is encouraging them to be worse later on. Firstly they are testing there boundaries, which if there are none, will make them believe they can do anything and get away with it, these habits would carry on into their later years when it comes to driving and they will become reckless because they believe that they can get away with anything. Secondly we shouldn’t be encouraging underage drinking because it will inflict an addiction onto our children that is close to impossible to shake off, if the kids are getting drunk every weekend at the age of 15 or 16 imagine what would happen to those same kids at 19 or 20? Melbourne's Murdoch Children's Research institute has done a study where 1520 teenagers drinking habits have been tracked for 10 years.

Something that the author defines as “sexting” epidemic and analyses how the law is treating offenders and victims. The author makes an obvious claim that the criminal-justice system is too harsh to solve any issues that deal with teens and technology because this issue is becoming more common and although he doesn’t examine different or alternative ways to solve the problem, personally I agree with him that the law should not interfere with such juvenile cases because being exposed to others instead of the person it was intended for is punishment enough. Bullying does not just affect kids, but the parents too. It affects the parents because a lot of their children begin to be afraid attending school. In the novel Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, Melinda was affected by being bullied lead her to think about suicide, scared of coming to school, and victims like Melinda begin to not care about school and fail. Melinda was affected by being bullied and led to many things and one of them is thinking about suicide.
The ridicules that have long followed the Amish will be one thing, but also the somewhat “false” portrayals will damper the relationship.
