Attitude is a state of mind, with respect to something. It could be positive or negative. The positive attitude is helpful to success, but many people are not aware of it. Even if our attitude is not positive, it can be developed. In the introduction of the book Attitude is everything, the author summarizes ten basic, practical and powerful steps, for self-development & personal growth, which he describes in the subsequent Chapters. According to Keith Harrell he identified these steps as; • Step 1: Understand the power of attitude • Step 2: Choose to take charge of your life • Step 3: Identify through Self-Awareness the Attitudes that hold you back or propel you forward • Step 5 :Reframe your bad attitude • Step 5: find your purpose and passion • Step 6: Be Pre-Active • Step 7: Discover how to motivate yourself • Step8: Build supportive Relationships • Step 9: see change as an opportunity • Step10: leave a lasting legacy Keith Harrell termed the above steps as ‘Steps that will help you develop a super-fantastic attitude’ In Chapter 1, the author advises we adjust our attitude, by handling the stress & identifying the negative thoughts which he also refers to the first step in the introduction of his book. The second Chapter states that we all have a choice for the type of our attitude, In other words taking charge and staying in control is an attitude of choice. We cannot control all circumstances. It is for us to feel happy. The attitude should be created in our inside, & this is required for getting happiness. We can programme our mind, for proper reactions to the situations. We can choose to get hurt, or not to get hurt. As per Chapter 3 we must convert the turning points, into learning points.
