What does the statement, “Students not only care what you know, but want to know you care” mean to you? This statement to me means, that there are students who not only seek for a teacher with knowledge, but a teacher who will appreciate them as a student, and encourage them to succeed. This is because many students are discouraged by those teachers who are in a classroom because it is their job rather than their passion. Everyday I encounter different students with different personalities, but through my experience with children, I have learned that, the most common students are those who are in need of a caring hand and support. For example, I once worked with a group of fifth graders who were all very well behaved, but there was one boy
Anything in life should not be given to anyone it should be earned or suffer the consequence. The fear of failing for some students is scary, he or she does not want to fail and if there motivated the student would most likely try harder and pay more attention in school. In example, when I was in high school I would never concentrate on social studies thinking it was important to me and one day my teacher came up to me telling me I would fail and not graduate this year because of my lack of effort in his class. From there on it got me thinking of my future and I didn’t want to fail and be back in high school for another year for stupid mistakes I made, so the next semester I work harder then ever and passed the class with an A. Sometimes a little motivation and being afraid of failure can motivate someone to work
At age 16 my aunty dropped out of high school and her life has been a living hell ever since. The age requirement to drop out of high school should remain the same because at 16 the part of the brain, called the Frontal Lobe, which controls decision making, isn’t completely developed. “Students who receive poor grades, who repeat a grade, or who are over-age for their class are more than likely to drop out.” (Do Something) Students who receive poor grades are likely to not care, get upset, or do something about it. Getting bad grades really affects you when you put so much time in that subject. If you don’t do the work, how do you expect to get good grades?
However, some parents might feel that the questions being asked are too personal and might feel like they are being judged by the school, but although questionnaires may ask personal or sensitive questions; parents are generally under no obligation to answer them. Researchers should always ask for informed consent before they start any form of
Short answers to Mastery Charter’s Application questions. 1. A student that does not require adapted lessons should be held to the same standards as all other students being measured by the same criteria. Having said that, I think there is a problem when students are expected to compete with their peers but have not been prepared. I know we can be overwhelmed by numbers but there should be away to reach students on the levels they are and teach them to the levels were we want them to be.
I felt school was not for me because I have dyslexic and, I feel people just don’t want to help me. I had to get off the self-pity and do something about my life. Returning to school should not mean you should give up your life it means you are giving your life a new outlook. Improving the things in life to make your future more brighter is priceless. I always wonder why I seem to leak learning things.
When a student is not trying to do well in a subject, or in school altogether, there is nothing anyone around them can do to change that; it must be the student’s desire and decision to turn things around, and do the best they can. There are some cases when teachers willing allow a student to fail a class. The teacher chooses not to follow-up with the student, to ensure they understand the material and attain the grades necessary to pass the class. The majority of the students who are falling behind will not even talk to the teacher about their problem. This can be a result of laziness or even shame.
Education is a very important resource to anyone who wants to succeed in life. Unfortunately, there are some students who do not take education seriously. They go to the school just to make friends, to not be at home to help with the chores or just because their parents are obligating them to complete this phase of their life otherwise, they rather to be doing something else. But, they don’t see that with an education their life can change for the better. However, as there are such students, there are also those students who want to overcome and be someone important, especially if they are in a foreign country.
Those parents have to stay vigorously involved in schooling their kids. Surely the obligation to ensure our nation’s future must be shared also by those who don’t have children in the public schools. Those people who should take an interest in the students that will eventually be stepping into the workforce. They should be developing work-study groups, internships and job placement banks that they can recruit and develop to be successful. Evidently, the tasks of educating our children nowadays are a lot more difficult than simple examinations and easy solutions.
I felt like they all tried to intimidate us about junior high school. Always reminding us that we are “up a creak without a paddle” trying to make us work harder. I also didn’t enjoy class because of the environment; our freedom was restricted due to the bubble of protection around us. Thinking about it now I feel as though the staff was over bearing trying to mature us to quickly. Overall middle school was the worst two years of my life.
