One of the marketing strategies that ensure the company of long-term profitability is the personal relationship built with the customer base. Customers will not have the same shopping experience with large grocery stores. If there are items that customers would like to have available in Kudler stores they are able to communicate that to management. Management can then relay the data to Kathy Kudler who will search the world for the best available items to satisfy the customer. People will not have the loyalty they get from Kudler at other grocery marts.
The fact that people had to repeatedly asked company Q to carry specific product line represents that the company is not in tune with their community and with the needs of their customers. Company Q should develop methods to research what goods are selling better in certain areas compared to what goods and merchandise is selling slower. If company Q can stay ahead of what the customer wants, the customer will feel as if the store is listening to them, knows them, and appreciates them for shopping with them . This problem can be easily remedied simply by conducting formal and informal surveys, placing suggestion box around the store, and simply asking their consumers what products they would like to purchase inside of their store. The sooner that company Q can anticipate and foresee what products are more in demand the sooner the company will be able to create a better profit margin, establish a good working relationship with the customer, and achieve a favorable public and consumer perception.
When Kudler makes business improvements, it causes their competitors to either imitate them or get out of the business. Some negative effects a monopolistic competition has on Kudler Fine Foods is that in the long run, profits even out and the company will maintain equilibrium. Entry to this industry is relatively seamless. As new competitors enter the market, the demand curve shifts to the left which thereby reduces economic profit. Productive efficiency is absent in the monopolistic competition.
Kudler’s has an inventory that consists predominantly of perishable goods that require replacement often. Kudler’s could cut costs and leave items on the shelf a day or two longer, but that would call into question their very reason for existence in being known for fresh foods. Reputation with customers can be lost with one poor decision. One way to counter that is to provide exceptional customer service. Kudler’s means of differentiating itself from the competition is its ability to provide the best products and the best customer service.
When looking at the bottom line, this practice takes an employee away from working the register or counter as well as increases the costs associated with providing goods for no profit. As a manager, I support Kudler’s practice of offering the samples. I see that it makes the customers happy and our employees get to know members within the community. The event offers more social interaction than a traditional grocery store could offer. Although it may cost most to staff this event, my values and ethics tell me I should concentrate on what is most beneficial to my employees and my customers.
The intended goal is to find out ["find out" is a "phrasal verb," two words that together mean something different from their individual meanings--looking up each word in the dictionary would not produce the meaning, which could cause misinterpretation in an international business communication. Use other words, like "discover" or simply "found"] how changes in each category of the marketing mix affect sales. Kudler Fine Foods is consistently shopping the world for new fine food products to put on its shelves. For Kudler it is important to know which products will sell and which products aren’t [Contractions are inappropriate in academic writing--write it out] worth investing in. Marketing research will uncover for Kudler not only the products desired but [For parallel construction, "not only" must be followed by "but also" later in the sentence] the price consumers are willing to pay for each item.
Being a fine foods store that specializes in foods that do not use any type of preservatives there will always be a problem with waste. To help curb this problem I propose implementing a system that allows Kathy to forecast sales by using data from previous years. This new system will not completely solve the problems with throwing away food but, it will help Kathy forecast what she needs and will help to ensure that she does not order more than necessary. The second issue which is the high-payroll problem is a little more difficult to deal with. A possible way to help compensate for these high salary positions is to allow other employees to train with the current butcher, baker, and wine
Using the transaction processing system makes product transactions easier to monitor and track which makes it easier to place orders and monitor how inventory sales are going. They system is able to keep accurate accountability for each product as it is sold, create invoices for orders, and reordering product. Having this system in place is critical because without it there can be data errors from numerous areas. There could be accounting issues such as invoices being paid multiple times, invoices not paid at all, transactions not accounted for, or financial statements not calculated correctly due to missed information. The importance of monitoring all the transactions coming and going from each location plays a key role in maintaining not only accuracy in inventory but also accuracy with the general ledger.
The products are disposed of in a dumpster and that is the end of the products usefulness in Company Q's current viewpoint. The company, if paying by weight or volume, will incur greater disposal rates from the waste removal company for disposing of the unsellable product instead of donating it to the local food bank. The second concern with not donating product that would otherwise be thrown away is employees' attitudes. If we've communicated to our employees that we will not be socially conscience to those people in need in our community, what does that say to our employees since they are also a part of the local community. In our digitally connected society it would be foolhardy to not expect a socially aware employee to film the disposal of food that we may not be able to sell but which could be given away and used by those in need.
are ways to give the consumer a choice on how they want their shopping experience to go. With all the people that embrace these new technologies, there are many who would rather do business the old fashioned way, without all the bells and whistles. For this reason, companies need to accommodate all types of consumers and be sure that the technologies do not overwhelm the product. Inventory control is another important role for technology to have a place in retail management. Software that can help stores understand why they seller don't sell are important to keep costs low throughout the company.
