Assignment 3: Motivation, Stress, and Communication Research a company at which you would like to work (not your current employer) and write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you: Create a brief job description for a position within the company you research that you would like to fill. I would like to work as a human resource professional. This position would enable me to contribute to the organization by constantly assessing the effectiveness of the human resources departments. In addition, I could sponsor and support changes in other departments within the company including improving word practices and protocols. To promote overall success of the organization, the ideal candidate should be able to identify an overall organizational strategic plan, including mission, vision, values, goals and action plans. Finally, one would help determine the measures that will tell the organization how well it is succeeding in all of this. In a smaller company, a human resources generalist may handle all aspects of human resources work, and thus require an extensive range of knowledge. The exact responsibilities of human resources generalists can vary widely, depending on the needs of the company. In a larger corporation, I, working as the director of human resources, may supervise several departments, each headed by an experienced manager who most likely specializes in one human resources activity, such as employment and placement, compensation and benefits, training and development, or labor relations. The director may report to a top human resources executive. As a human resource manager focusing on employment and placement, the candidate would supervise the recruitment process, hiring, and separation of employees.
