Conflict amongst community leaders and resident could have a negative impact on the environment if it not corrected in a timely manner. There will all form of disagreement amongst each other but it important that parties work together for the best interest of the community. Team work will be implemented, understanding the nature of the conflict and the purpose is very vital in resolving the conflict of the community. The goal will be address, conflict intervention will be discuss and conflict intervention will be implement in order to come a solution during the Spark Island conflict. Effective planning and communication skills are key elements to decrease the conflict in the Spark Island and Spark Island Lighthouse case. Community members and leaders face difficult situations and have to implement effective solutions in order to decrease any form of conflict in the community. Community leaders have to make productive decisions for the community but it is wise to give the residents an opportunity to express their feelings pertaining to what’s taking place in the community. It is important to implement positive communication skills trainings that will allow ethical decision making in the enhancement of the community.
“Successful communication is the key to a successful negotiation” (Lewicki, Hiam, and Olander, 1996 p.159). Conflict plays a negative role in the improvement of growth in any organization or community and if not controlled in a timely manner, it will have a negative impact and division may form within the community. Conflict is a common cause that may lead to division therefore it is wise to implement tools and strategies that will enable community members to deal with the situations in a productive manner.
