I am hoping that this program will provide me with the tools and courage to start a new career. I am hoping to learn the tools to become a great leader. By reading the Quantative Reasoning for Business Overview document, I have a greater understanding of what I will be prepared for with regard to future courses that I must take including Economics, Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Research. The QRB course will directly aid me in my future in Corporate America and as a self-employed entrepreneur.
I am ready to pursue my MBA for several reasons. First, I wish to switch industries and I will use my MBA as the catalyst for this change. Second, I wish to move into a more managerial position. Lastly, it is the best time for me personally to pursue an MBA. I am more mature and focused on what I want to accomplish with my MBA.
Murray and Ungar Synthesis In the many recent debates about how to approach higher education, one issue that has constantly appears is the question of students benefiting from a liberal arts based education. Some argue that a liberal arts education is helpful in teaching students the basic life skills, others claim that a more specific field of study is necessary in order to b successful in life. In Ungar’s essay “the New Liberal Arts”, he claims that with a liberal arts education, students can benefit tremendously when they receive their jobs. In Murray’s essay “Are Too Many People Going to College”, he proclaims that a liberal arts degree is not highly recommended because the more difficult careers want students to take classes that are more specific to a job. Sanford J. Ungar and Charles Murray both conduct and display their own opinion towards the facts they learned through their own strenuous research.

I was a huge jock in high school and it has taught me to be a team player and a leader in my life. Right now I do not have a job. I was laid off by my last employer and I felt that it was a sign that I should go back to school again and get that all important degree. I’m going to get my associates first then I’m going to get my bachelors. I have been in the retail business my whole professional career and felt that a business degree would help me achieve my goals.
How can Beres prove that the money is really going to waste? How does he know that those funds aren’t being used to help the medical students get a better clinical? I agree that every student deserves to get into their “dream” college, so not only will the common app help with get there but also help start them with the path they need to be on. Just because so many of the applicants who applied didn’t get accepted doesn’t mean they weren’t being given a chance. I wonder what percentage of those students who didn’t get accepted withdrew the opportunity themselves because they couldn’t afford it once they got accepted.
“By tying grades to money, we give students incentives not to take risks” (Vogel, 392) that stop them from choosing challenging courses in college. Students find easier courses through word of mouth or websites that previous students rate their professor in. I always ask people who previously took the course I am interested in whether or not I have a chance of passing the course with a C or higher. Students are afraid of putting their grade point average at risk because the grade point average is a component of the application process that helps colleges decide who to accept. .
He believes not everyone should go to college to pursue a major just because they want to make a lot of money. Murray states something that it is true, ‘Young people with okay-but-not-great academic ability who are thinking about whether to go after a B.A. need to consider the competition they will face after they graduate.’(Murray,2008). If all people want to get into the business, finance, and/or management world once graduated they might have a rough time. There are certain skills needed to be successful, even when giving orders to other people.
Cal Baptist’s business program can help me with my mission by equipping me with the knowledge, skills, ethics, and nurtured talent that is takes to be a successful future business leader in today’s business world. When researching the different types of majors that I would want to apply to for college, I went to God for help. I asked him to show me what his plan had in store for me. God answered my question by showing that He wanted me to major in business. I have always felt a calling towards business and I am excited that God’s plan for me involves furthering my education in business.

My goal is to earn my Master of Business Administration degree at CU Denver, focusing on International Business and Entrepreneurship. As the largest elite business school in the region, I know it is the best choice for me to complete my undergraduate degree. I’ve always known that I want to start my own business.
