The early form of this type of jazz was done by repetition foot stamps and handclaps and performed to complex rhythms. Although it started as a black folk dance, it became a ballroom dance after its exposure to the nation and lost some of the liveliness and vigorous enthusiasm. The jitterbug is another form of Jazz dance that became popular in the 1930s.

It is a style of dance where participants push or slam into each other. As I've been a fan of Joey Badass since he first came on the scene, I knew all of the songs he performed. He performed some songs from his first mixtape, 1999, such as "Funky Ho", "Survival Tactics" and ''Waves". In addition, he performed songs from Summer Knights, such as "Unorthodox'' and "95 Til' Infinity", which is a reference to 90's Golden Era group Souls Of Mischief and their album 93 Til' Infinity. I arrived at the venue in Shepherd's Bush quite early and saw the audience getting gradually more excited as the show approached its start.
"I don't have a name for my style of dancing...It's certainly hybrid...I've borrowed from the modern dance, from the classical, and certainly from the American folk dance – tap-dancing, jitterbugging...But I have tried to develop a style which is indigenous to the environment in which I was reared." I would employ all these skills throughout university life in order to help me succeed and do well. I spend the majority of my spare time socializing – perhaps a little more than I should – however I do believe I have a good balance of school work and free time. I love listening to music, reading magazines and going shopping, as does any teenager! Due to my bubbly and good natured personality I believe I would thoroughly enjoy the social aspects of university life. It would be a great opportunity to meet new people from very different backgrounds.
