Are Left handed people better cricket players? Hypothesis: Left handed people are better cricketers at school level. This hypothesis can be summarized by the investigation conducted by Australian national university. This investigation was to test the the transfer time between the the left and right hemisphere of the brain between left handed people and right handed people. They did this through measuring reaction times to white dots flashed to the left and right of a fixed cross.(Cherbuin, 2007). Dr Nick Cherbuin then compared this to how well participants were carrying out the task to spot matching letters in the left and right visual fields, which would require them to use both sides of the brain at the same time. test's in 80 right handed volunteers showed that there was a strong Correlation between how fast information was transferred across the left and right hemispheres and how quickly people spotted matching letters. in 20 left handed volunteers it was found that the more people used they're left hand in life, the better they were at processing information across the two sides of the brain. Extreme left handed people were 43 milliseconds faster at spotting matching letters( Cherbuin, 2007) as compared to right handed individuals. This would be an important factor in giving left handed cricketers an edge over right handed cricketers. Dr Cherbuin concluded that left handers' brains are more symmetrical with larger and more efficient connections between the two hemispheres. The average person is right handed leaving the minority of the worlds population to be left handed. In cricket a left handed player would have an advantage in the game because many right handed players at school level are practiced to play right handed players since right handed people make up the majority. according to the investigation carried out by Dr Nick Cherbuin left handed
