Regulation is the application of laws and rules created by the government, designed to correct percieved market failure. Market failure occurs when resources are not allocated in the best possible way. In order for regulation to be effective, the government will require enough information in order to correct market failure. There are a number of problems with regulation, the first is that it is often difficult and costly to impliment. In the case of pollution and carbon emissions, it is very hard to actually measure the level of carbon emissions being produced from a company.
Without prior market penetration of an organization’s competetitors, the usefulness and effectiveness of properly marketing a new product or service can be quite burdensome. This is due to the fact that an organization runs a major risk of constantly striving to maintain its customer base, as the new type of product or service has not yet been introduced into the maintstream. Additionally, pricing may be an issue based upon: Should pricing be very low to attract new buyers?, or Should pricing be set high to offset initial entry into a new marketplace? These are the questions that an organization must face, but for the most part, being a
* Both DFD’s in Petrie Electronics case in Figure 7-1 and Figure 7-2 are not balanced correctly. The figure 7-1 diagram misses the process of how the company maintains the promotions for the customer and the 7-2 diagram has way too many steps and is kind of confusing and hard to understand. Because the figure shows multiple inputs from multiple sources it makes it somewhat difficult to read. In order for the two diagram to be balanced, we will need to show the additional sources and their inputs into the system and when the 7-1 and 7-2 diagrams have the same sources-inputs-outputs, the diagrams will be balanced. 2.
Brennan (2009) argues that ‘the NHS may be viewed as unprepared to deliver such a fast-paced, radical and extensive modernisation program.’ The risks and uncertainties on embarking on the world’s largest civil IT program should not be underestimated. The reality of delivering such a program without significant unforeseen issues, delays and need for change from the original plan would be unlikely. The NPfIT program has delivered some major benefits to users of IT systems in the NHS, but still has a long way to go to fully integrate information management between organisations. More importantly, gaining the support and trust of clinicians in order to begin delivering the kind of benefits to patient care and service improvements originally aimed for will require a change in culture not seen before in the
Role of Information Policy CMGT/400 February 25, 2013 Role of Information Policy The importance of policies and standards for maintaining information systems and security can be very a touchy subject for many organizations. Organizations want to have the best policies in place to help keep the company safe but often times the money and training that is needed are left out and the policies and standards are not as secure as they need to be. Many items are needed to insure the proper policies are in place. Such items such as training for the individuals that are using the policies that are established or proper software and hardware being installed on all systems are vital to security. When the employee groups sees how important security
For example, through the Socratic seminar I was able to learn that there isn’t a clear definition of bioethics or informed consent. It is really hard to define theses two key terms from the book. Informed consent could be about a lot of things. It could describe the medical procedure used, what’s its purpose, what is the significance of the results from the procedure, the financial value, and as well as the post procedure follow-up. Although the Socratic seminar and the novel left many questions unanswered for me, it made me understand more why things are they way they are in the healthcare and scientific research industries.
To the manger, there can be some issues when implementing anti discriminatory practice here are some of the suggestions to difficulties that are stopping this from happening and also why health and social care setting need to over come them. Health and social care settings need to over come as many difficulties as possible when implementing anti discriminatory practice because The first issue that can occur is the cost of a building to be adapted to suit all service user, this issue is not every easy to solve as financial issues occur because it is very expensive to do anything to change the buildings structure also takes time to dapt the building so could affect the public who use this service , also where the building work is could not be suitable for the service user to go near as anything could happen. However it couldn’t just be a physical barrier that stops anti discriminatory practice from happening as the attitude of the staff towards individual with certain needs, which could affect anti discrimination from being promoted because if they are rude towards the service user and not make them feel welcome then the
This is a complex issue because marketing in healthcare does not create needs. A need is a condition in which there is a deficiency of something. In this orthopedic group practice, they realized that there was a need/want for a pediatric sports medicine program. Health care professional’s responsibility demands treatment of that need. (berkowitz, 2011) 7- Explain the difference between existing customers, target markets, and stake-holders for an acute-care community hospital.
Research Process and Terminology According to Merriam-Webster.com (2012), “the collecting of information about a particular subject” is the definition of research. Terminology is defined as “the technical or special terms used in a business, art, science, or special subject ("," 2012). In the criminal justice field as with many others, the understanding, and use of new terminology is very important. New terminology and knowledge obtained will be useful in a variety of aspects throughout a career in criminal justice. Lacking proper terminology while conducting criminal justice research can be very detrimental to a person’s work, advancement, and career.
Other qualitative data collection method under Qualitative Design includes Participant Observation and focus group. The following are challenges faced with participant observation and the strategy to be deployed to overcome this. • Time consumption is a big challenge and this is mitigated by involving researchers who already possess a solid base of cultural awareness of the region or ethnography under study to be among the data collection team. • Challenge of data documentation and this is mitigated by strict discipline and diligence to expand researcher recorded thought or observation. • The objectivity in documenting researcher observation because this process is inherently subjective.
