Comparing the homes and buildings that were built in the 1950’s to those that are being built in the present times is complex in a couple different ways, one being that all the materials that were used to build the homes and buildings has changed a lot from the materials that they used and also the way that they were designed and built. The homes that were built in those times were built with smaller rooms, smaller closets, they usually only had one bathroom, the windows were made smaller and they didn’t have the double-pane glass, which was a really good invention because the double-pane glass controlled the temperature inside to home way better and kept it cooler. The electrical systems of those time was way different, for instance they didn’t have as many outlets as they do today, fewer circuits, and a less capacity. The houses and buildings of the 50’s had been painted with the paints that were around in those times which a lot of them had lead inside them. The insulation and the water heaters of those times was called inadequate by today’s standards.

As a marketing manager of a retailer selling a vast range of home furnishings, you have been asked to identify the importance of marketing in order to reach the firm's objectives. Evaluate how the marketing management philosophies may be applied to the firm concerned. Marketing is all about anticipating, identifying and delivering the consumer's needs and wants. An example of how this definition of marketing may be applied in a home furnishing firm is seen where the current trends are anticipated and thus, furniture nowadays, is being made with pastel colours, instead of using mahogany since this is no longer the current trend. Thus the customer's tastes and needs are satisfied and the firm can make larger sales.
More elaborate dwellings have richly ornate and unique interiors with features like built-in cupboards, armoires, mantlepieces, and bevelled glass doors. Semi-detached housing consists of a pair of houses, built side by side. Featuring both a front and rear garden, a driveway or alley leads to the back of the property providing natural lighting to the building. Two-story semi-detached houses are more affordable than a single-story semi-detached house because they require less land for the same number of rooms. Montreal semi-detached houses are common in older locations like Notre-Dame-de-Grace and Cote-des-Neiges.
Evidently there is an unequal relationship between the north and south, which could be mainly due to the fact many of the southern countries were owned by the north in the past. The level of consumption differs greatly between the north and south. The northern countries tend to be more developed, with larger and more stable economies, which result in most of the population sustaining a higher standard of living and having more money to spend on goods and services. The north also has an excess of Transnational Corporations which encourage the high consumption levels. Whereas in the south; large percentages of the population cannot afford to buy goods which are not absolutely necessary, as they live in poverty.
