Mackenzie Kahl DRAM 105 March 2013 Play Critique #2 On Saturday March 8, 2013 I attended the Young Theatre of CSU Fullerton’s production of “Blithe Spirit,” originally written by Noel Coward. The intended audience could be any adult but probably relates more to middle aged adults and married couples. It was an unexpected amusing comedy with a little bit of darkness intertwined. The audience collectively seemed intrigued in the story line and entertained by the actors. The main action of “Blithe Spirit” revolves around a man who is being haunted by his first wife’s ghost that is extremely bothersome to his current wife who ends up joining the first wife as a ghost and together they taunt and torment the man.
She is always suspicious whenever he doesn’t answer her calls. She becomes especially crazed when she calls him while she is high. She becomes very paranoid and is always ranting about how he is probably off sleeping another girl and that he never cared about her. She still seems to think she can control it and when she goes to her brother’s baseball game her mother notices and tells her she should leave immediately and to not come back unless she shapes up. Kristina and her boyfriend finally get an apartment together and the also move in Kristina’s son, against her mother’s wishes.
Considering how this novel ends, is George a good friend to Lennie? Logan Topic sentence: In the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck the story shows how George is a very good friend. Reason/Detail: The first example is in the beginning of the book when Lennie touches the woman’s dress and she started to freak out. Example: When the lady was freaking out George ran out with Lennie and hid in a ditch all night with him so they wouldn’t be spotted. Reason/Detail: Next when they were trying to get a job George did all the talking so Lennie wouldn’t mess it up which helped them get the job.

We’re going to be late.” So I slowly drug myself out of bed because I had a restless night. As I put my softball shirt on “Hurry if you want to see Trevor before the games start” my mom said. So I hurried as fast as I could as she chuckled. It was a usual Saturday morning.
Unlike Mildred he likes books. In the novel Fahrenheit 451 Montag is a firemen, and while on his job he likes to take a book, every single time. He hates keeping secrets from his wife, so one night " he reached up and pulled back the grille of the air conditioning system and reached and took out a book. He reached back again and kept pulling out books" (Bradbury 65). Montag thought for himself when he decided to show his wife the books, knowing there was a good chance she would "pull" the alarm on him.
He is ashamed of her foreign family and remembers with disgust how Jelka's father advised him on their wedding night to beat her once in a while, Their Marriage is not a nor mal because Jelka is quiet and spends her time making Jim's happy and taking care of the house. Jim's hot dinner is waiting no matter what time he comes in from the fields. Also, Jim makes no emotional connection with her and eventually looks elsewhere for companionship. Therefore, after a year of being bored with Jelka, Jim starts to long for the company of silly, chatty women and begins to go to the "Three Star," which is a brothel in Monterey where he often amused himself prior to his marriage. One particular Saturday night Jim decides to go to town and is meets his local farmer who tells him he found a slaughtered calf's remains with Jim's brand upon the hide.
Tensions arise from the very beginning. The biggest shocker to the family was Wednesday’s apparel, after 18 years of wearing black, Wednesday appears in a bright yellow dress. Pugsley is worried that he will lose Wednesday, that would mean no more torturing. He steals a potion from his grandmother, who may not be, that will show a person’s evil nature. He plans to slip the potion into Wednesdays drink at dinner (“What If?”).
No one really cared about him, so he built up walls with drinking and now Katniss and Peeta break them down and help him. On the train ride over to the capitol he is drunk when he should be giving advice to his tributes on how to stay alive in the games. Once he realizes they had a fighting chance this year and were not automatically written off as usual, he managed to focus on helping them instead of drinking. This helps Haymitch by giving him something to focus on as well as focusing on people who care for him. In the film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire his drinking is not as prevalent because he now has Katniss and Peeta who care enough about him to try and help him stay sober.
