Anne Frank Analytical Essay One catastrophe, millions of lives lost, billions of weapons and one sick mind with one horrific plan. With the Nazis of Germany by his side, Adolf Hitler created an unbelievably, perverse genocide throughout Europe. He caused an incalculable amount of deaths that brought severe distress to mostly Jews. Anyone that was not up to Hitler’s standards were inferior. Throughout many of life’s obstacles, the human spirit can triumph over the most difficult circumstances. Anne Frank and many other Jews and Gypsies had persevered through the tough living situations and lifestyle that Hitler and the Nazis created for them even when no hope was thought to be found. In the book, “The Diary of a Young Girl,” Anne Frank, the rest of her family, and some friends went into hiding during the Holocaust. Anne and her family’s living conditions were tedious, pall, and depressing. “It was especially hard because we had to live in complete silence.” Only being able to whisper and even that wasn’t allowed at times, became frustrating and strained their relationships. With such poor living conditions it was thought to be almost impossible to survive. However, the spirit of Anne and the rest of the people in hiding gave them hope to triumph over their circumstances. In the book, “Night” by Ellie Wiesel, a survivor of the Holocaust portrays the theme; the human spirit can triumph over the most difficult circumstances. One way it is portrayed is when Ellie was taken from his home, put in many different concentration camps, and traveled in dreadful trains. Most would think that all of this would put an end to all possible hopes of surviving, but not for Ellie. He too persevered, stayed strong, and finally was able to cheat death for a final time. He lived to see his friends and family again (those who weren’t killed in the Holocaust) and regained hope.
