Have you ever been near a waterfall? Have you ever heard of Angel Falls? Angel Falls is the world’s tallest waterfall at 979 meters. Perhaps you will think that it is an angel falling from the sky. However it’s not an angel it’s a giant waterfall. It is an amazing spectacle and a great example of nature’s beauty. If you go close to it, you can hear the tremendous sounds that it makes. Angel Falls is an astonishing sight, and taking a trip there would definitely be an adventure! Every waterfall in the world seems to have its own bit of magic, but the highest waterfall in the world holds many secrets and mysteries. Angel Falls, though not as popular as other waterfalls, is higher and grander than the other waterfalls in the whole wide world. It is 3,212 feet tall, and this spectacular place can only be reached by helicopter, airplane or boat. Many people choose to visit Niagara Falls, which is in New York and Canada, because it’s an easy destination and very close to large cities. Although Angel Falls is not as famous as Niagara Falls, it is 20 times higher! If we compare Angel Falls and the Lion Rock, the tallest mountain in Hong Kong, we can find that the difference between them is 484 meters! That’s a lot! When we look at all the waterfalls in the whole wide world, I think the highest and grandest waterfall should be the most celebrated. Angel Falls is unique, because it’s not like other waterfalls. Other waterfalls are on mountains and cliffs, but Angel Falls is the only waterfall, which is on a tepui. Let me explain what a tepui is first; a tepui is a tabletop mountain which means it’s like a normal mountain but it is flat on top and usually goes straight up and down.
