With so many trees being cut down for the growing population, many different types of species that live in the forests are being killed or forced to move from their homes. The majority of these problems with population growth can be either prevented or lessened with minor changes. The problem with homes and buildings being built for the increase in human population and for the expanding of new businesses can be fixed by sustainable development or building vertically. By constructing taller buildings, rather than wider buildings, fewer trees need to be cut
Due to animals consuming more grass than can be produce, the ground becomes scattered leaving the soil exposed to erosion. The NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Services) has a program to help prevent overgrazing. The program “provides information and support to enable ranchers who own their lands to burn unwanted woody plants, reseed the land with perennial grass varieties that hold water, and manage cattle so that herds are moved to a new location before overgrazing occurs” (Wright & Boorse, 2011, p. 288). If this problem is left untreated, could be a threat to the food chain. Deforestation is when trees and other vegetation is being removed converting the forest to another land use, this exposed the soil and often leads to erosion and loss of soil fertility.
The mountain pine beetle epidemic is causing environmental and social impacts to much of British Columbia. Our forests are very important and will no longer be able to maintain their role if changes are not made. The devastation has had a sweeping impact on B.C.’s ecological, and economical well-being. Additionally, recent studies are drawing attention to the carbon-emitting properties of the dead forests, which is a global concern. A popular misconception developed that the current provincial mountain pine beetle epidemic began in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.
While this reduction in mosquitoes is a positive, the negative would be greater. An estimated 90 illnesses will occur with four being fatal do to the use of Malathion. Trees, birds and fish will be harmed if not die off completely, and this will disrupt the natural ecosystem that still lives in this area. Not only will the ecosystem be harmed but the economy will suffer due to the reduction in tourism. Economic long term effects are still unknown about this pesticide; therefore to use this pesticide could cause irreparable damage to the environment.
A large problem is that humans do a lot of damage to our environment by taking down natural resources including trees and water. Humans are a share of the planets ecosystem. This means that everything we touch will cause disproportion of environment. In turn, our actions affect our world and us. The controversy of environmental pollution has affected our security of economic cost, causes harm to our health, destruction to our structures.
Some group members used numbers and facts to make sense and sound credible for their individual roles. The abolishment of the amazon is morally wrong and this applies to ethos because deforestation has many adverse effects to many things. Josh and Kelli used ethos and pathos and talked about how animals and people are affected by deforestation. The droughts and increased heat has had negative impacts on local aquatic invertebrates. Aquatic invertebrates are adapted to survive in a particular range of temperature and habitat. But global warming makes it harder to survive. This could lead to the extinction of several species of aquatic invertebrates which in turn would lead to serious consequences of the ecosystem. Many of the aquatic invertebrates are responsible for keeping the ecosystem clean by feeding on litters.
Companies and poachers are largely destroying Rainforests. Rainforests are not only beneficial to humans but also to the numerous animal and plants species. They supply much of the oxygen humans need to survive. In addition, some of the trees and plant species within the forest provide essential components in producing medicine. In the 1970s, environmental ethics emerged.
Without encountering this problem correctly, not only the abusers life is at risk, but the ones around them as well. If we as a nation come together and fight the battle against prescription drug abuse and push the concerns of crooked doctors and government officials to the big men in congress, the views could change and peace could be kept. These drugs are a necessity to many and because of these crimes; it is hurting the needy from an easy process of receiving their medication. So next time you are at the doctor and you feel that you would feel a lot better and happier with a drug you want other than a drug you need, think about the people that you could affect. Just remember, just because one says they are a doctor, doesn’t mean they are trustworthy.
Besides causing undesirable odors and increase the frequency of animals, can still result in some diseases. That is why I will invest in basic sanitation.
