Maimonides contribution to Judaism is seen through the several of writings which have provided further explanation and confirmation of the complex Judaic laws and requirements. The thirteen articles of faith and the guide for the perplexed and the commentary on the Mishnah, have the most important literary requirements to a depth study of Judaism and its core beliefs. Maimonides writings not only made simple, the beliefs of Judaism. However, many early rabbis have condemned the writing of Maimonides as it seemed to ‘summarise’ the true word of god and excluded the long rabbinic discussions which arise in the Mishnah Torah. The 13 articles of faith are creed- like statements which make clear the core beliefs of Judaism.
Before this time, Egyptians worshipped many different gods but the primary god was Amun-Ra. During his reign, Akhenaten altered traditional Egyptian religion in one of his most controversial decisions as Pharaoh. Akhenaten changed the focus of Egyptian religion to one sole god, Aten. This is why Akhentan changed his name from Amenhotep IV to Akhenaten, as he took on the name of the god. As Angela P Thomas noted in her book Akhenaten’s Egypt, “Aten was given a titulary like the king and the god’s name was written in double cartouches.
“Explain the Judeo- Christian concept of God as a law-giver and judge” God loves and cares for his creation because of this he creates rules in order for his creation to live together harmoniously. Judaeo-Christians have many views about God as law giver and judge. Firstly God can be seen as Law giver in Exodus 20 when God is said to have revealed the 10 commandments to Moses, but the Children of Israel have just been warned that if they approach him directly, he may break out against them and kill them. In this story it God is seen as omnipotent and the presence of Him is a mortal danger and threat. He gives direct commands to Moses and Moses obeyed God's orders despite personal danger and overwhelming odds.

There are so many controversies and so many different beliefs, how could they all be correct? In this section, Dever’s views are argued and proved wrong.
We can see by looking at this verse how God promises us that many years will be added to our lives if we live correctly according to our knowledge of Him. Now if we can get this understanding to the people that we are around, be if they are Christians or not, then they also would start to live a holy life. Everybody wants to live a good life but we have the tendency to live by what we have learned in the past good or bad. If we have learned bad habits and lived in a bad society then of course we would follow those morals and would not change unless we are instructed otherwise and then this task would not be so easy. First thing we do in gain the understanding and pursue the correct knowledge.
