China and Jeremy had been intimate from the very beginning of their relationship, but she wanted more. [“She kept thinking of the way it was in the movies, where the stars ambushed each other on beds the size of small planets and then did it again and again until they lay nestled in a heap of pillows and blankets, her head on his chest, his arm flung over her shoulder, the music fading away to individual notes plucked softly on a guitar and everything in the frame glowing as if it had been sprayed with liquid gold. That was how it was supposed to be.”] (381). China desired more than just a teenage relationship, she looked at she and Jeremy and saw a more mature relationship and wanted to experience just that. We all want that fairytale relationship that we see on tv and read about in books, for instance you could refer to a Nicholas Sparks novel and all the romantic things that the couples experience.

Seven years senior to Sonny, the narrator helped raise his brother through his youth. When on reflecting his childhood years, the narrator has many fond memories with Sonny but doesn’t divulge with specifics. It is clear to see by how the narrator speaks of Sonny, the narrator cares a great deal about him. When the narrator read the headlines projecting his brother’s name, it flipped his world upside down. Through the narrator’s life he’d certainly meant to keep Sonny’s best interest in mind, hadn’t he?
Amber Wheeler 11/15/12 I chose Shepard Fairy’s “Hope” poster from the 2008 presidential campaign because I am a proud supporter of our second term President, Mr. Barak Obama. I see the vision he has, and I appreciate the message he spreads throughout the United States; that everybody matters. I was over joyed when Obama was re- elected, that is what gave me the inspiration to research a painting of him by Shepard Fairy. The message of “Hope” that Fairy captures in this painting comes across so real and pure because you can see the pain and struggle of his journey to presidency through his eyes. Frank “Shepard” Fairy was born and raised in Charleston, SC.
Juliet – Yes, nurse? Nurse – Lady Capulet is coming, be careful. (close door and leave) Juliet – Romeo, the window, you must go out the window. Romeo – One kiss and I’ll be gone. (Climbs out of window) Juliet: It will feel like years
Creative Response to “Black Recollection” I marvelled at Allie in sheer wonderment, as her head lay on my chest. The gentle rocking of the boat lulled her into a soft sleep and her eyelids fluttered like the wings of the Golden Dragonfly, every now and then. I felt the wind dance and swim in a graceful swirl through her abundance of locks, as soft as rose petals and as black as ebony. Allie was as still as the dead in their eternal sleep. Yet I knew that she would never sleep peacefully… not after what had just happened.

Barack Obama has had many positive results in his two terms as head of state. My conclusion to why Black history month is important is that we should not underestimate other races and we can learn a lot from African People. CHARL KOTZE GRADE 11B,
Her only consolation was her cat, who in the dream could talk, offered only a “meow” as she shed the tears of mourning for her lost dream. There are two sides to every story-- we all know that. Good cop, bad cop; fact or fake. As each day goes by, one at a time, we either see our little fantasies play out or we don’t. Period.
Guru’s exposure to jazz began when he was a child when both of his grandfathers would play their favorite jazz albums with him and his brother. Guru owed his talent and creativity to them therefore credited them both in his first volume of
