Their 1986 album Raising Hell was preceded by the top ten hit “My Adidas”, and then the release of a cover of Aerosmith's “Walk This Way”, off the same album, became the groups biggest commercial hit. They were the first hip hop act to get airplay on the ever-popular MTV, setting the stage for future hip hop acts to achieve success in their wake. The song “My Adidas” was a brilliant song not only for the content of the song, but also for the massive public response it received. The song sparked
As he would say “rap game depending on me like a bungee cord” (Lil’ Wayne). In “MegaMan,“ Mr. Carter shows off his mind blowing lyrics and his ambitious swagger. Since his first album The Block is Hot Lil’ Wayne has proven his dedication to the rap game. The young Birdman Jr. lets the rappers know that his money is steady transmuting and his swagger is only improving. Lil’ Wayne makes it obvious that he has
After that, he signed with Def Jam and released his next album, "In My Lifetime, Volume 1." This album had much to do with Jay-Z's life in his earlier years. It won platinum status. A year later, he released "Volume 2, Hard Knock Life," which has sold over five million copies and is five times platinum. With continued success, Jay-Z's net worth is expected to reach $1 billion or more within his lifetime.
Will Smith was a rapper by the name of The Fresh Prince alongside, childhood friend, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Ready Rock C. However, the Will Smith that is seen today is not the one of 1988. In the year 1988, The Fresh Prince was tackling the rap world. Will Smith was so talented that he was awarded the first Grammy in the rap category. That award catapulted him into the limelight starting him on the path to superstardom. Another reason that Will Smith is the best entertainer is because of his long acting career.
The other factor that takes away from this album is the two rock-rap songs, (She Watch Channel Zero!? & Party For Your Right to Fight). Maybe it’s a personal bias, because I never really like when rap and rock fuse, but I totally think they are in much better form when rapping over James Brown samples. Otherwise I can’t see any other flaws with this album. Chuck D performs like no other, and the Flavor Flav element is unique and essential to this album’s
I understand he wanted to encourage his players to perform their best by putting forth their best effort. Sometimes people need an extra push to do their best, not abuse. Bob Knight not only physically abused his players, but emotionally abused them too. He was the opposite of John Wooden. Wooden and Knight had a great winning record.
[8][9][10] Consistently ranked as one of the greatest rappers of all time, he was ranked number one by MTV in their list of The Greatest MCs of All-Time in 2006. [11] Three of his albums, Reasonable Doubt (1996), The Blueprint (2001), and The Black Album (2003), are considered landmarks in the genre with all of them featured in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. [12][13][14] As an entrepreneur and investor, Jay-Z co-owns the 40/40 Club, and is the co-creator of the clothing line Rocawear. [15] He is the former president of Def Jam Recordings, co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, and the founder of Roc Nation. He also founded the sports agency Roc Nation Sports and is a certified NBA and MLB sports agent.
In the end, “The Black Mamba” is the better player right now. He has the experience, confidence, and the overall better technique and skill. However, in my closing statement I will say, because of the size and strength; Lebron would win in a game of 1on1 with
October 2, 2012 ENC 1101 Lupe Fiasco is in my opinion one of the greatest artist of all time. He is a mainstream rapper with so much profound meaning to his songs. Because of this the untrained ear would just think he’s rapping; I see him as an icon as should everyone else old and young alike. Lupe Fiasco just released a new album called the Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album and it is awesome! His timing couldn’t have been anymore perfect now that Columbus Day is next week.
Cole is my favorite rapper at the moment, he just has a different appeal to him compared to all the new rappers. What I particularly enjoy about the album is the rawness and openness of it. The combination of Cole's transparency and charisma will have you dancing in the club, sympathizing with the starving artist, and cheering for the dreamer by the time you reach the end of the disc. Through his own life story he also touches on important issues within our communities today such as abortion, single parent homes, and the responsibilities it takes to be a man. If you're a fan of J. Cole then the album is everything you'd expect, just with a more personal and retail demeanor.
