Air Trance 16 Analogy Analysis “Air Trance 16” written by Ben Marcus, has a difficult but unique reading involving several perspectives that anyone can relate to. The meanings can be enormous, but using several methods including patterns, binaries, and anomalies I was able to create a logical meaning that can be viewed in biblical perspective. The word trance means any mental state in which a person is or is apparently unaware of the environment. In the title, Air Trance, represents how we need to stop to notice what is going on around us and how we are acting upon it. This reading has meaning that is meant to teach everybody to realize how we are acting towards one another and how we are living our lives. Comparatively, in the bible, it is teachings and words of advice in how to live our lives. The reading starts off as: “If the motion of wind were to be slowed, as weather is slowed briefly when an animal is born, we would notice a man building and destroying his own house.” In the first half of this uses the analogy of wind meaning judgment and weather meaning life. Likewise, The Bible says, “The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.” (Jer 22:22) With wind being in relation to judgment in the Bible, I then interpreted in “Air Trance 16”, the motion of weather into the time in our lives. We need to stop time in order to comprehend how we are acting around ourselves and also recognize what is happening to others. We first need to stop judging others and recognize ourselves in order to understand how we need to build our own lives in the right way. “We would notice a man building and destroying his own house” Translates into how you would realize the way you succeed from your mistakes by changing in the way you project your self onto others.
