My head pounding, my heart racing, and my pencil tumbling between my fingers, there is only thirty minutes left on the clock until my fate is forever marked by the most important test of the year, which determines if I graduate or not. Yet, I am barely halfway through when a sudden strike of music tainted my sense of concentration with the song “Oops I Did It Again”. A student’s cell phone has rung and my train of thoughts has been derailed. Although, cell phones were originally remotely designed to assist, to alert, and to prevent extreme disasters from happening, people, especially young adults are obstructing these privileges and using it for their own advantages, such as for show, for escaping boredom, and for cheating purposes. Thus, if cell phones are not properly regulated, the essence of education will be forever tarred. Cell phones are a nuisance in the classroom and should be banned. With the constant growth and spread of new technology, new versions of cell phones are emerging. As a result, students compete amongst each other to see who has the better cell phone. As more expensive and high-tech cell phones are brought to school, students are enabling a higher risk of their valuables to be stolen. Not only does it become a personal problem, the administrators now have to step in. The only thing possible to do now is to go out to the cell phone store and purchase a new cell phone. Not only now you are losing your cell phone, but now you are losing money to buy a new one, important information you had on the phone, and the money you spent to buy the cell phone. For example you have to buy a new cell phone for about $200; you lost everyone's number in your phonebook, and about another $200 for the cost of your stolen cell phone. Bringing your cell phone could provoke all of these dilemmas, which are unnecessary to the school and yourself. With distractions
