Their wingspan range from six and a half feet. Bald eagles weigh from six to eight pounds. Female bald eagles are larger than the males. To help them soar, eagles use thermals which are rising currents of warm air and up-drafts generated by terrain such as valley edges or mountain slopes. Soaring is accomplished with very little wing-flapping, enabling them to conserve energy.
There is no distinct difference between the male and female Canada Goose, only that the female is slightly smaller in size. Canada Geese typically mate for life; they will mate in the winter and will then nest in the spring time (Canada Goose 2011). Canada Geese, like most goose and duck breeds, live together as a family unit after the goslings hatch. Canada Geese are capable of flight as soon as 40 days after hatching. Adult male Canada Geese can grow to be 15 pounds, while smaller birds can be as light as 3 pounds (Canada Goose 2011).
It is 4 meters deep, 2.5 meters wide and 1 ton in weight. In that nest the bald eagles lays eggs once a year or less but only 1-4 eggs at a time. The eggs are all white. The bald eagle can live up to thirty years, but even longer when it is in captivity because when their in the wild people wreck them and they get sick by D.D.T. It is illegal now though to hunt or use D.D.T.
That they have the strength to accomplish this act is astonishing — though many older penguins “simply fade away” in the process. Once they reach the breeding ground, a spot where the ice is thickest — the males and females randomly pair up: They hold their heads close to each other, lightly nuzzle each other with their beaks. They mate once, and if they did it right, a single egg follows. The mother briefly holds the egg on the tops of her feet, covering it with the warmth of her underbelly, before carefully passing it off to the father to protect in the same manner. Not all the eggs make it — and the parents “can only watch as the ice claims their egg and the life within it” which Jacquet depicts in a miserable fashion.
They weigh around 2000-2,800 pounds. Adult males and females are usually dark on the head, especially the top of the head and upper and lower jaws. Unlike most other whales, narwhals have no dorsal fin, instead they have a low bumpy ridge that begins midpoint of the back and continues to the fluke, or tailfins. The “horn” that gives the narwhals the name “Sea Unicorn”, is actually a tooth that can reach up to nine feet long and can weigh up to twenty pounds. Both males and females are born with two teeth pointing forward in the upper jaw, but the left tooth of the male grows long and spirals counter clockwise toward the tip.
When its claws are retracted they are not covered by a sheath, as those of other cats. This exposure is to the cheetah's benefit, providing additional traction during acceleration. Cheetahs are usually solitary hunters. Slithering on its belly, a cheetah will cautiously approach its prey until it is within one hundred feet of its victim, a process which may last from a few seconds to several hours. It will then attack, and if its victim manages to escape, the cheetah will then chase the animal in hot pursuit with a lighting dash of up to seventy miles per hours.

When a baby platypus hatches, it is both blind and hairless. Both male and female baby platypuses are hatched with spurs on their hind legs. However, the female platypuses shed its spurs and do not grow any more. The baby then spends about 4 months growing in the burrow. "Duck-Billed Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus)."
Howler monkeys range in size from 56 to 92cm, and have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years. These monkeys usually live in groups of about 18 other monkeys. Only one of the monkeys in the group is male and mates with the rest of the females in the group. They are large, stocky, and covered in thick black, reddish, or olive brown fur. Some species have "saddles" of light brown or golden.fur across their shoulders and backs.
The pelvis and ribs of a flamingo are similar to those of storks. The composition of egg-white proteins in flamingo eggs are similar to that of the herons. (Flamingos 2) Behavior patterns, especially those of chicks, link them closely to geese (order Anseriformes). Like geese flamingos have webbed feet and waterproof plumage. Flamingos are the only members of the family Phoenicopteridae.
