By Tuesday, November 26, 2013, draft a paper that critically analyzes a current, domestic or foreign political issue of importance to the United States. Students will (1) identify a current political event to analyze; (2) research and summarize the different approaches to understanding the political issue selected; (3) provide a clear, personal analysis of the issue and an explanation of the core values and assumptions that informs their analysis. The student will be expected to support their discussion with primary texts and from pre-approved secondary sources (including, but not limited to the course text, online lectures, and a list of suggested online resources). Your paper should be 6–8 pages in length and include proper APA citation.

Affordable Care Act
Healthcare Reform has been in the making for a long time it began back in the early 1900’s and has always held its place on the back burner. It’s almost been like a fruitcake at Christmas time. You know that you are going to get one this year just like last year but you don’t really want it or plan to eat it. You receive it as that dreadful gift form Great Aunt Liz and you store it on the top shelf of the pantry until spring cleaning then you throw it away. Then the wait begins again. This has been the exact path of Healthcare reform since the 1900’s everyone used it in their campaign, won the election and just decided it was not that important or it got washed out with more important issues.

Most presidents didn’t have the backup of the majority in order to appeal to the citizens.
