Basic need of advertisement is to promote product / service, but it becomes legalized form of lying in these days. Advertising is all glitter and little truth. Most advertisements and advertisers make totally false and tall claims, which is far from reality. Example: By eating chocolate one forgets all his problems & feeling like going to heaven. They call it as creativity. It is nothing but lying, which has tacitly grown to accept it in society. If the strict definition of "cheating" is taken, as is commonly defined in most countries across the world, then most advertisers and the companies would have to be put behind bars for the offence. Advertising favours only 1) The stars, who promote the product most of the time dont take its responsibility more over they not even use the product. 2)Advertisers, who depict the consumer most of time based on clients requirements. Intense advertising may influence people's mind to the extent that they prefer only those product which are being advertised massively and equi potent product is overlooked. These techniques hamper the small and mid scale industries to a large extent. Though advertisement offers fake information, it plays an important role in passing information such as AIDS, contraception etc. and how to overcome them. Also it creates job opportunities for many people. In order to have a healthy bottom line the ad firms cannot shun their responsibility towards the society. Ad firms have to develop the ethical content into their processes to ensure unbiased information about products. Due to fierce competitions, obviously they sometimes tend to deceive people by adding little flawed details. So consumer should also be more aware and should have ability to choose
