As we live in this new era, the Internet is used by many people for different reasons and for many different situations. The Internet is a worldwide computer network interconnecting people from different parts of the world with very different cultures. We use the Internet daily for different reasons, like for entertainment, business or to pay for bills online. We can say that the Internet can be beneficial or detrimental to every individual, but can it be said that the Internet does more harm than good? In my opinion, I do not agree that the Internet does more harm than good. In this essay, I will be talking about the positive effects that the Internet has brought for us. The Internet brings many advantages for people because of its convenience and popularity. Through the Internet, people can now do banking online, instead of having to head down to their respective banks. A survey conducted by Rosetta, one of the United States' largest digital and direct interactive agencies, showed that 52% of respondents said their bank’s website is their primary method of banking, while only 32% said that the branch was their primary method of banking. 48% of respondents said they would do all banking online if they could. This shows that internet banking is now a growing trend among consumers. The Internet offers us a medium for communication. There are many facilities on the internet helps us to communicate such as E-mail, Facebook, Twitter and many others. All these facilities enable people to communicate with other people from different countries in the world so that one can explore other cultures of different ethnicity. Also, the Internet acts as a medium for information. Today, a lot of people need information from the Internet.
