Adult Continuing Education; Online vs. Traditional Adult Continuing Education; Online vs. Traditional Deciding to continue your education by going back to school is a huge decision. It takes time to finally decide on doing this. Once you do finally decide there are many options to look at when continuing your education as an adult. No matter which option you choose you should be proud of yourself for furthering your education and challenging yourself with something new. There are many benefits with continuing your education. Some of these benefits that come from continuing your education as an adult include; gaining a personal sense of accomplishment, learning new things that you are interested in, earning a higher income, possible change in your career, becoming a better role model, gain respect from others, overcoming disadvantages you have experienced in life, possibly start your own company, and have a greater positive influence on your community (Degrees of Opportunity: Benefits of returning to school as an adult, 2005). Along with the advantages of continuing education as an adult come some disadvantages. As an adult learning you have the added responsibilities of trying to juggle classes, homework, possibly a job, and you’re at home responsibilities. This could put extra stress on an already stressed out adult student. As an adult learner you do not only have to do a juggling act on a daily basis but you also have to worry about managing your finances. This is because as an adult learner you already have a life set up with bills to pay and then you have to add your tuition to this (Heibutzki).
