Adoption Vs. Abortion August 20, 2011 Women of all ages may at some time in their life be faced with an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. For many, it is a joy that they are going to have a baby and get to be a parent. For some though, it is unwanted because of embarrassment, fear, violence, or just that they are too young to have a baby and are worried about what their parents will do or that it will ruin their life. It could be because of rape or just because they do not want to have children at all. In cases where the pregnancy is unwanted the mother sometimes will decide to have an abortion, but abortion is definitely not the answer. No one should ever have the right to tell a woman what they can or cannot do with their bodies but these unborn babies are more than just the woman’s right to do what they want with their bodies, they are a human life. Unborn babies, even at the beginning of a pregnancy, are still a human life, just like you are, and it is illegal for someone to kill you or take the life of another so how can anyone believe that abortion is right. Abortion can cause a lot of physical, emotional, and psychological problems later on in life for the women who have had one, and they do not realize all of these consequences when making a quick decision to abort the pregnancy. There are other options when an unexpected or unwanted pregnancy happens, besides abortion. A great example of these options is adoption. There are so many loving devoted people out there that cannot have a child of their own and would love to take in one of the children that women are aborting. There are so many loving families out there that would love to adopt a child and because of this abortion should not even be an option, should be made illegal, and definitely not an accepted or thought about procedure.
