Adopting a New Healthy behaviour Changing your old life style to a new healthy behaviour is not that easy. It takes time and determination to do it. “Between 40 to 80 percent of those who try to kick bad health habits lapse back into unhealthy ways within 6 weeks”.(Hales, D & Lauzon, L. 2013, p. 16). As an individual you need to maintain a good health condition to prevent illness and diseases, longer life span and resulting to a good relationship with other people. There are lots of ways on how to improve your physical, mental, occupational, emotional, social and spiritual health behaviors. There are some activities too that will help you gain the healthy lifestyle that you wanted. Some of the healthy behavior includes education, counseling and couching, proper nutrition, joining social groups, avoiding some risky behaviors, maintain medical check-ups and exercise. These are just some of the healthy practises that you may take to start a new healthy behavior. Personal Health Assessment By accessing to the Testwell site and completing the Holistic Lifestyle Questionnaire, the weakest part that I need to improve in the 6 dimensions of wellness is the nutrition area. I admit that I don’t have a proper nutrition. I don’t eat my breakfast most of the time and I occasionally eat healthier foods like vegetables and fruits. Since I start going to school, I didn’t notice that I am losing the importance of having a good nutrition. Going to school with an emptied stomach affects your ability to focus on your classes so I want to improve myself by adopting a new healthy behaviour starting with a proper nutrition.
