A Memorable Experience Mother Nature has made the world beautiful and it is because of her that the human beings can survive. However, at the same time nature’s fury can cause great destruction to human life too. Natural calamities are left to the hands of god. If He wishes, He can destroy the world in a fraction of a second. It took an unfortunate incident for me to realize how terrible the consequences of nature’s fury could be. It was Saturday morning and had been raining heavily since two or three days. My parents and I are slept soundly inside the house. We were disturbed by our neighbor’s screams of panic. Mom peep into the window to see what happened. She saw heavy rainfall and mud all over the village. She went out and warned us that the water is rising and we should do something to prepare for flood. My younger sister and I ignored her and just listened to music. Unfortunately, the fence across the street broke and it was then that we panicked because all the water that the fence was holding got into our house. We immediately put all electrical appliances above the chairs and secure our other casualties. The flood was already 3 feet deep. Flood water has already got into every house in the village. Luckily, our house is kind of elevated that the flood was just 3 inches. I tried to call for rescue but our telephone died. So, I called the NORECO II and ask them to cut off the electricity so as not to cause fire or anything through a cell phone. I can really hear people crying, see floating debris, and feel their heart aches. Few minutes after, the water went down and the people are starting to clean the destructions of the disaster. I was asked to buy dry rags at the market. I saw wiped out houses beside the Banica river. I pity them and I felt somewhat fortunate because we did not experience what they
