Maria’s mother acts fast and hides Maria and Alberto in the hole her father made for their safety. Maria’s mother scarifies herself for the safety of her children. If Maria’s mother went into the hole with them the Contras would of notice the untouched breakfast on the table and would search for them and kill them all. By Maria’s mother staying behind the Contras thought they got everyone in the house and would not search for Maria and Alberto. Trauma begins when Maria hears everything from the hole and the torturing and screaming of her mother.
UNEXPECTED TORNADO TEARS A TOWNS 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION Sunday, July 5, 2012. This is where Kate’s life really starts to slip right through her hands; just as water runs through the spaces between your fingers when you run them under water. Part 2 gets off to a rather rough start. Kate gets her decision letter from MIT, and she ended up being declined. Simultaneously she also sets a fire in Chemistry class and then later that night the Litche’s house catches fire. Kate’s father decides to take in Teri and Mikey into their house until the fire damage is taken care of.
She acted as if nothing had happened & the next day took David to the hospital, trying to convince the doctor he has fallen off the top bunk of the bed. David declared, “But my fear kept the accident our secret. I knew if I ever told anyone, the next “accident” would be worse.” Once, David was dropped off at his Aunt Josie’s house & tried to escape. Mother found out about this & she smacked, punched, & kicked him until he crumpled to the floor. She also crammed a bar of soap down his throat & to think David attempted to escape his aunt’s house, because he actually missed her.
MAYCOMB FAILS TO SAVE A BURNING HOUSE!!!! MAYCOMB COUNTY- A Major fire broke out at an old white lady Maudie’s house last week during midnight. The fire first started on the ground floor of the house, frequently spread to adjoining rooms and slowly made its way up to the roof. The fire was first spotted by the owner of the house; Miss Maudie. Her neighbors helped her out by getting the furniture and other valuables out of the burning house.
John had barely begun his workday on the 81st floor when he heard a loud explosion. As flames burst through the office, John and his co-workers quickly headed for the stairwell. "I thought I would die," John said. "The building was swaying and we could feel the building tilting to the left, fighting our way through the fire making our way to the stairwell." Fearing the worst for his pregnant wife Mary, John made frantic cell phone calls to her without success.
My mother had a best friend whose husband was killed in the attacks; apparently he was trapped in the first tower when it collapsed. So, we were visiting that family a lot, and comforting them whenever we could. But what really hit me hard was that this was just one family. After the attacks that day, hundreds and hundreds of people lost loved ones to one of the most brutal and barbaric attacks in human history. I was only in the 2nd grade at the time when the attacks happened, but I still knew how awful it would be to come home from school and find out that one of your parents were killed in a mass murder.
They would have death wishes put on their front door, and their property would get vandalized frequently. This devastated Mama Younger since she was big into her gardens. They had never been looked down so much in their own neighborhood before and it started to get to them, until Ruth and Travis made
Griener’s home. After the disappearance of Homer Baron Miss. Grierson was rarely seen when she isolated herself inside her home. Shortly afterwards the towns people began complaining about a horrible smell coming from Miss. Griersons’ home.
We thought someone was out in our back yard so we ran to tell our mother. Our step-dad went outside to investigate when he saw a police car go by and announce over his loud speaker to evacuate immediately there was a 20 foot wall of water coming down the canyon. We hurried and got in our car wearing only our pajamas, and drove to our neighbors. Our neighbors lived at the top of a big hill. I remember going out on the balcony and hearing all kinds of horrific noises.
