“A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed” A friend in need is a friend indeed is an old saying or proverb that means “A friend who helps out when we are in trouble is a true friend, unlike others who disappear when trouble arises". It is misunderstood sometimes as “a needy person becomes a friend to obtain help from others". This phrase is both time tested and well proven and it exists since the 11th century. It is similar to a quote by Walter Winchell who said that “A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out". It means most of the people withdraw their support from a person, who is facing all sorts of difficulties and is surrounded by problems and hardships from all sides. Good friends come to the rescue in such a time when help is needed. Finding a true friend is a very difficult thing to do. A lot people boast that they have hundreds or even thousands of friends, but when they’re in trouble their friends are not there to help and give them a hand. True friends are always there to give you a helping hand and support through all your difficulties and problems. They always remain good friends. Friends always keep changing. I think nobody could live without friends, no matter how rich and intelligent they are. Friendship is the most important term to keep peace on earth. I had a good friend, when I was young. Her name is Marilynn Apulu. We grew up from the same school and same church. We were close and best friends when we were little. Then she was transferred to another school when we were in 4th grade, but we stay in touch at church. Unfortunately, she went off-island to live with her mom and we haven’t heard from each other
