Essay: Division or Analysis A Day in the Life of a Full-time Student, Husband, and Father My two-year-old baby’s piercing midnight cry startled me, as I hovered over my over-sized, college, biology book. “Every minute counts” I said to myself, since in only a few hours I will be tested on my knowledge of this subject. Do I let the cries wake my wife, or do I ignore the pressure of lost study time, and tend to my little baby daughter? This struggle of balancing those duties is constantly replayed in different scenarios, and is part of life for a student who is a father and husband as well. My wife and I have a joint commitment, and consider the bigger picture. We understand the value of my academic success by setting our sights on the ultimate goal of having a financially stable future. Needless to say the difficulty of the daily struggle of being a good student, husband and father is juggling college and family. The challenge of being a good student demands that I attend classes regularly, set aside time for studying, and complete out-of-college requirements for my career choice. After a long night with little sleep, whether I am ready or not, I need to be punctual and consistent with class attendance. Aside from attending class regularly, it is recommended and useful to set aside studying time to absorb the information. This requires quality time so that I will be able to excel in the subjects. If I had a choice I would use every minute out of class time to study. However, in my situation, time is limited and needs to be divided carefully. Aside from the mandatory requirements of college, there are also other requirements for the advancement of my future medical career.
