The human body is designed to know when stress is used and is effecting the body and your body should know how and when to react to it. Everyone thinks that stress is a bad thing but it is also a positive. This is because stress is keeping you alert and will prepare you for any kind of danger. Stress can become dangerous is someone is faced with stress continuously without any kind of relief. Stress becomes very dangerous when they use alcohol, tobacco or drugs to try and relieve the stress.
Infact i will include smoking and the comsumption of any form of drugs legal or illegal. This can have an immidiate effect on the stress relief but in the long term it wouldnt be wise and could cause many problems to your health and inversly increase stress. Keeping calm and meditation could be very useful heklping you to relax both your body and your mind. This will have little side effects but would need a certain person to be able to do this. So this will onhly be effective if you are able to do it in the first place.
Understanding behaviours like this, and understanding what causes them, will assist a Public Service and anybody who works within them. This is because they will be able to stop aggressive or troublesome behaviour before it starts. They will also know specific techniques on dealing with it. The Police Service is not the only Public Service that requires this understanding, every other service will require it too. The ambulance and paramedics will need this because some people will get aggressive when the paramedics try and help them, this is because they may be frightened or confused, and knowing these signs will help the service to calm them down and use the best techniques available to them.
You can encourage someone to express feelings of discomfort or pain by making sure they know that is safe to do so around you and taking your time to ask them. Encourage an individual to you self-help methods of pain control. The best way to encourage them is to remind them of all the ways it can help them and make them more comfortable without any more medication. Assist an individual to be positioned safely and comfortably. This is important as an individual could have more pain down the left side of the body in which case laying them on their right to make it more comfortable for them to sleep or even just to sit.
Throughout the book the author revealed plenty of useful information put into action in approving are listening skills to be better listeners. My actions consist of be more conscious in my listening skills and continue to control the negative emotions that sometimes arise that prevent us from listening to others. It is important to keep intact my emotion until I have a full understanding and clarity of the message being relied to me. I will remember to steer away from being defensive, because at the same time I can be unknowingly attacking others around me that loves me. With every opportunity of listening I will be mindful of creating a safe environment where clarity, understanding, and listening can take place effectively.
