Veganism: The Right Choice

What you choose put on your dinner plate tonight could be one of the most important decicions you make in your life. Do you want to choose meat, vegetarian, or vegan? A vegan diet is the best choice for more reasons than the obvious “eating meat is cruel”, it is not only better for the animals it is also better for you, the environment and the world.
Most people go their whole lives without even thinking about it, without even knowing, just what they really are eating. Every day, without even thinking about it, people sit down for dinner and devour that big juicy stake infront of them, without even realizing the causes to their actions.
“Animals don’t have feelings” is a phrase I hear on a daily basis from people trying to justify their actions. It is common knowlage, or should be, that the animals that are killed everyday for these ignorant people’s taste buds do, indeed, have feelings just as we do. These poor creatures feel grief, fear and pain just as we would in their situation. The “Might makes right” mindset is generally the attitude of individuals who are confronted with this fact. Just because you can doesn’t make it right.
Out of all the animals slaughter for human consumption daily, the chicken is “arguably the most abused animal on the planet. [goveg]”, with more than nine billion raised on factory farms alone for slaughter every year, and about 99% living in confinement.
“Chickens are just dumb birds” is yet another common justification from meat eaters.
Chickens are not just dumb birds, but infact are “smart and inquistivive” animals who are known to be as intelligent as dogs, cats and even primates [goveg]; though most people would never consider eating their pet or a monkey at the zoo. These creatures are social and enjoy spending much of their time with other chickens taking dust baths, basking in the sun and roosting in trees [goveg]. Hens make sweet and loving mothers, actually clucking to their chicks long...
