Freedom Essay

Below is a free essay on "Freedom" from Anti Essays, your source for free research papers, essays, and term paper examples.

In today’s day and age all people in the United States are legally free. It sounds like an awesome right, but there are some down sides to it, Such as being responsible for your own actions. Way back in the day before people were free, other people of higher authority were meant to look after people. If the person they looked after did something irresponsible they would get in trouble. Rather then the person who actually committed the crime. A good example of that is; way back in the day when people were not free yet, if a child didn’t listen and did a mischievous act their parents would get punished as well as them. Now a days people are responsible for himself or herself and if they do something wrong they got to suffer the consequences for the choice they made.
People have the freedom of being able to make choices for him or herself.   Its sounds good but it gives people a higher chance to make a mistake and get in trouble. It is a HUGE responsibility. People don’t realize how challenging it is to make a lot of decisions that come our way, although we make countless amounts of choices everyday all day long.
Bu when you really think hard about it are we really free? People still have racism, like some offices will not let certain races work for them. Its illegal but it still goes on. There are also bias people who think that woman shouldn’t work, or even that woman should only have certain jobs so they wont hire a woman or they wont hire any men. Either way its still illegal but it happens all the time.
