A lot has changed since the year 1989. At that time gas prices were $1.12 and a dozen of eggs were set at a price of $0.96. Now the gas prices have absolutely sky rocketed to $3.72. Like the gas prices have modified and changed, so has my individual development. Year by year, month by month, week by week, and day by day my life is being modified and changed to become the best person I can become. I am constantly searching and looking for an identity and reputation that I am comfortable with. This journey is not just about my search and me, but it is also about the people who helped me along the way. The people who helped to mold and sculpt me into the young man I am today.
The first stage of Erikson’s Childhood Stages is the Trust Versus Mistrust stage. The age that this stage is supposed to occur is from birth until the age of about one and a half. This stage is when a sense of trust is bonded between the parents and the child. The infant’s basic needs are met by the caregiver. In my first year and a half of my life, I was treated great. The trust between my parents and I was very strong and still is today because of this stages strength. The attachment between my parents and I was dependent at this age like any other infant. Many developmental psychologists believe that the attachment to the caregiver during the first year provides a very important foundation for later development. Instantly the caregiver and the child form an instinctive attachment. The infant is equipped to get a response from the caregiver. For example an infant cries, clings, smiles, and coos to get the attention of the caregiver. Later in the infants life the child learns to crawl and walk to keep the mother close as possible.
