Mr. Jones: Hello, Katya. Is there something you want to speak to me about?
Katya: yes, yes, Mr. Jones. I have a big problem, it’s about my English. It’s really upsetting me.
Mr. Jones: okay, just calm down. Tell me, what your problem is?
Katya: the problem is with my home stay and my English learning. I was so happy and making good progress. But now a German girl is coming to this home stay, too. She speaks German! I’m so worried about this. This means I will not speak as much English as before!
Mr. Jones: okay, maybe this isn’t a problem. Maybe you can discuss this issue with them. And you know, everyone has the freedom to speaking the language they are all comfortable with. So you can’t make that girl speak English. Maybe she has no good English and she will need help.
Katya: yes. But that is my worry. If that girl doesn’t know how to speak English. Then, I must speak German.
Mr. Jones: okay, don’t be so worried about this. Because you have many other ways to improve your English. You can make more friends who speak English or if you like, you can change your home stay.
Katya: no, no. I can’t do that. I love this family, it’s perfect. I won’t change it.
Mr. Jones: okay, you know. You ambition is to improve your English, so you can study landscape architecture at university. You must try to find a solution to this problem, be happy again, right?
Katya: En…okay. I think I’ll try my best way to do, thanks, Mr. Jones.
Mr. Jones: Don’t think so much. Everything will be okay, you will see.
