Possibly the largest global problem this planet has ever faced is upon us, and the part that’s even more scary, it may be the one we are most unprepared for. For a couple of decades now the earth has been going through changes and many have neglected to acknowledge these changes, but it’s clear the time is now. Al Gore’s documentary film titled “An Inconvenient Truth” does a very good job giving everyone who watches it a better understanding on the issue of global warming. This is so important because not enough college students understand what a big deal it is, and how it will impact our children in the years to come.
Many people don’t understand the importance of global warming and how responsible we are. Global warming is a result of human activities burning fossil fuels, and emitting excessive amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Most of the effects of this global issue have already been detected throughout the world.
America is the most contributing country to this problem, so we should be the first to try and fix it. The facts will grab anyone’s attention ranging from the harm of animals to thousands of people losing their homes to the rising oceans. Polar bears are starting to drown because the icebergs are melting, and the polar bears are falling off the icebergs trying to get on them because they’re too small. When the polar bears have to swim to find another iceberg, after they have been swimming for a while, they get tired just like we would. If everyone could do one thing to change the way we live for our environment, it would help drastically.
For many students in college these days’ politics may or may not be interesting to them, for the most part I am not very interested in them, so a movie by Al Gore wasn’t the first movie I originally had in mind. With my interests aside I saw the film and after seeing it thought everyone needs to see this and learn about global...
