Raising Children

In the world today there are children who are raised by one parent. For some its hard not having the parent of the opposite sex around for problems, which can not be solved by the existing parent. For instance, girls usually are more comfortable talking with their mothers and boys are usually comfortable with thier fathers. From my own experience growing up with my mom and without my dad was tuff. Her income alone was not enough to support the both of us. There where times when I would get upset and get into arguments with my mom, because she did not get me what I wanted. Being around my friend with both parents would make me jealous and think her life was better than mine. Her having both parents left her without any problems but me with one affected me in some kind of way. Children growing up in single parent homes are faced with few effects, in many cases a discipline problem occur, a want to be with the other parent, and the child education becomes at risk..
A discipline problem is one of the most common effects on children that grow up in single parent homes. Since parents are so busy trying to make ends meet it’s not a lot of time made for the child. Most children think their parents are not giving them any attention, which makes them think the parent do not care about them. The child then thinks they do not exist to their parent and do inappropriate things. For instances, the child begins to lose respect for the parent or talk to them as if they are one of their peers. A classmate of mind was bragging about how they stole there mom car and got arrested for it. A remark that was made was that they had done it because their parent was never around and did not care about them, so they felt like they were getting back at their parent. They feel as though respecting someone who is not there enough to care about them is pointless. Others would rather be violent towards their classmates or peers to express their anger of feeling neglected. They become...
