The Inconvenient Truth

As I watched the film asked myself, what is the Inconvient Truth. The Inconvient Truth is that the temperature of the earth is warming at alarming speeds. It’s warming because of the burning of fossil fuels, the use of the earth’s natural resources.
The reason that it is incontinent is because the big companies depends on big salaries made by the burning of these fuels. Another problem is that our everyday lives depends on the burning of the fuels, especially oil. Upton Sinclair said it best in “Carbon Footprint”, It’s difficult to get a man to understand something if his salary depends on not understanding it. Basically, as the old saying goes, “Money Talks.”
The burnings of these fuels are causing natural disasters. It doesn’t become a social problem until it adversely affect a large number of people and for which it is believed a solution exists. For example, In 2005 temperatures increased all over the world. It set an all-time record for tornadoes. Hurricanes took over, first Emily, and Dennis hurt the oil industry. Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and Mississippi coast totally DEVESTATED that area. Also, Hurricane Katrina further devastated the oil industry as more oil rigs were destroyed.
Chapter six concepts is well exemplified by this film. When technology became available it changed people socially and culturally. Technology causes social change and is itself influenced by culture. It helped us to build cities and to use computers for information. This is currently changing our society and presenting us with new problems, and also with new horizons.
The government as well as the individual have responsiblities. The government should find other ways to fuel our enviroment. The Treaty of 1992, most countries signed to reduce the use of fossil fuels. The United States did not sign because we are one of the biggest burner of fossil fuels in the world.
