Since the war the media has shown the people to take side to create a false pride (in their believes) to support such bad cause. Now a patriotic act is to defend you country honor and pride to the fullest no matter if wrong or right. They are motivating the U.S. to hate every one of the Iraq civilization by playing the victim and pointing fingers. After the September 11 attacks, the U.S. government used the media as an outlet to emphasize Muslim stereotypes to influence people to support the invasion of Iraq. Stereotypes and other propaganda techniques such as "name-calling and censorship" are powerful instruments used in propaganda, because it tactfully influences the population to think in the way that the government and media want you to think. How does the war affect the Iraq civilization? What kind of labels the media had mark to the Iraq people? How the U.S. citizen has response to the situation? What I feel about stereotyping?
The Iraq invasion had a slight negative effect on perceptions of the typical Iraqi, but people around the world seem to draw a clear distinction between U.S. and their civilization. National character stereotypes appear to have given a long term label of who they are without knowing them. Iraq mistreatment happens partly because unlike other religions, Islam requires believers to show their devotion outwardly and their image (the beards, the male headdress, and headscarf for women) .This factor is associated with the Islam and they can be threatening too many Americans. Another stereotype is that American underestimates the intelligence of the Iraq people because they think they don’t receive a good education while 90.4% of the population had graduated with a high degree. (Strauch, 2003)
The U.S. has responded to the situation by taking advantage so they can benefit themselves. They do this by constantly remembering the U.S. citizens of the agony of the September 11 attack, by feeding the public anger...
