It was a lazy afternoon; I was sitting in a café with my two friends, one guy and one girl, chitchatting about our part time work when the girl suddenly complained.
“I can’t believe that my boss was angry at me because I didn’t help him making handout copies. It was not even my responsibility to help anyone copying”
“Hey, he’s the boss, that’s why he was very strict on everyone”, I said.
The girl burst with anger, “No he didn’t. He treated ME as his poor employer, but not with the other guys. They were discussing about baseball almost everyday. And when I told them I watched baseball too, they just say, oh really? Then continue ignoring me. Instead of asking those guys, my boss wanted me to make the copies.”
The guy who was quiet before sipped his milk tea and say “Did you ever reject him or try to explain your arguments?”
“He’s my boss, how could I do that? I didn’t want to be rude, I didn’t want to create an uncomfortable working condition”
“Then that’s where you show your weak spot”, the guy said.
“OK, so now you’re talking about men are powerful and women are weak? It’s almost 2010. Women are men should be equal by that time”, I said, trying to defend my girl friend.
“No, women and men will never be equal, women are created fragile. Just look at her (pointing to the girl), she didn’t even refuse, because you women are very tender and soft. Men analyze, women feel, men are often intuitive, but women are considerate and always worry. It’s not a bad thing, in fact men love that point in women. We like the tenderness, the frailty, women, it’s your dignity. We looked as if we always underestimate women, but actually we need you, to give us support, to cool down our anger. If men and women are always competing, then who can we trust? Aren’t you women love to be yourself when you don’t feel like going to school and you say it’s the menstrual pain.
