Nuclear Energy

Energy is all around us and affects us almost everything we do. As our population increases, so does demand for electricity. Air conditioners, computers, televisions, microwaves and many other appliances have become necessities for Americans. All sources of getting electricity have drawbacks. As the scenario of global warming getting heat, we should find ways to limit the use of fossil fuels and find other sources. There are many way to produce electricity without harming the greenhouse gasses. The reasonable source today is the nuclear energy. Nuclear energy is safe, clean and inexpensive to its alternative sources.
As our population is increasing, the demands of energy are also increasing. We need to come up with better option of getting power. If we compare different options of energy we can easily come up with the conclusion that nuclear energy is far better than other sources of energy. At present coal produces 51 percent of United States energy. It is cheap but the biggest drawback is the amount of pollution that is produced due to the burning of the coal. Same is with the gas. It cost slightly higher than coal but produces pollution. Solar and wind has no pollution but cost a lot. We need hundreds of these units to power a small village. Nuclear energy has no pollution. The only waste it has is radioactive material but is all contained. None of it is released in the atmosphere. Being the cheapest of all and environment friendly it is the best option United States has.

People say that nuclear energy is not safe. To prove this let us go back and see the history. In the United States only one incident occurred. That was the Three Mile Island. The incident happened due to human error. But if look at the accident I think it was a success. The strong concrete walls...
