This play is a romantic comedy that revolves around 3 couples and their struggles to find true love. One of these couples exists in a fairy land perhaps acts as an example to illustrate that that all beings, human or fairy struggle to find true love. There are many issues that the couples in love face.   These include enmity and hatred and frustration. Jealousy and forbidden love also present themselves as obstacles.

Hippoltyta and Theseus are originally enemies. Hippolyta’s warriors, the amazons launch an invasion against Thesues   while trying to conquer Athens. However they are defeated and Thesues decides to take Hippoltyta as his bride. Eventually   the love between Theusus and Hippolltya gorws an rains supreme. What started out Hatred and enmity soon changes compleatly to form a relationship of deep love.Hermia and Lysander was a genially love and. They cared for each other deeply and they wanted to spend the rest of there life together. However Egeus Hermia’s father opposed the marriage. It seemed she had no choice but to marry who her father chose for her and that was demitius. This love was truly forbidden but Hermia could never let go of her true love.The last couple is Helena and Demitrus there relationship was more of an arrangement rather than unity between two people. But Dimetruas was unfaithful and fell for Hermia and left Helena. Dimtirus fell in love with Hermia because she was a beautiful lady who he intended to marry.
