There’s been many different versions of the classic story, Romeo and Juliet. There’s been movies, stories, and completely different things made from the Shakespearean drama. In 1961 Jerome Robbins directed a film called “West Side Story,” which is a take-off of Romeo and Juliet. There has been around 35 different productions of the original story and it has been filmed and written in over 13 languages. But on the contrary the Zefirelli production made the balcony seem almost dark and eerie sticking out in the back of the castle. The bushes weren’t pretty or elaborate either.
Both films were very different from the prompt book I had created for the balcony scene. In my version Romeo and Juliet sound distressed and almost angry at each other because in my eyes they’re not very understanding of each other’s...
