Homosexual marriage is a very controversial matter that is being discussed in our country today. As of right now, Massachusetts is the only state in the U.S. that has passed the law stating that two homosexual people can be married and their marriage will be recognized by the government. If a homosexual person wants to get married to be happy they deserve their happiness just like anyone else. There are many reasons as to why homosexual marriage should be legalized as a federal law.
In our constitution of the United States it says "all men are created equal". This is stated in our constitution, the backbone of our country, you'd think people would pay more attention to it. If everyone is created equal then everybody should have the right to marry, not just some ( ). Gay or lesbian people can vote and contribute positively to their society and support their government so it is not fair that our government will not support them and give them the right to marriage ( ). By not allowing marriage of homosexuals you are depriving them of their equality as human beings.
As Americans, we were also given the "unalienable rights" of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There is no reason why those rights apply exclusively to heterosexuals. Homosexuals can not live their life in the way that they choose to so therefore they are being able to live their life, but only in the way that the majority of society sees fit ( ). People came to America so that the King, our form of government, couldn't tell us how to live our lives, and homosexuals here now are being told, once again, by our government, how to live their lives. Also, Americans are the only people who seem to have a problem with it.
Liberty, as read in the dictionary, is the right and power to act, believe, or express oneself in a manner of one's own choosing. That is basically the opposite of what gay and lesbian people are allowed to do ( ). Their liberty is being...
