Religion
In England during the Elizabethan Era there were many changes in rulers and religion. The pope wouldn’t annual King Henry VIII marriage. Henry decided to start his own church and broke from the Roman Catholic Church. This causing a spiral downward and religion wouldn’t be the same for lifetimes to come. Manny Englishmen were confused on what religion to fallow the Catholic way of worshiping Jesus or the Protestant way of fallowing the religion. The disputes over religion can be explained by understanding what Christians believed, through the history of the religion, and the fast changes in rulers causing disputes over what was the right religion to believe in.
The majority of the disputes over religion were about was form of Christianity to fallow the protesting Protestant or the traditional Catholic. These two forms of Christianity believe in the same basic god but thee was of worshiping varies. Christians believe that a Jewish prophet Jesus is the son of god and the second head of the holy three part trinity. The holy trinity consists of the father, son, and holy sprit. These three heads are the same but different. Christians believe that Jesus died for people’s sins and of you accept this and believe that he did so you will have everlasting life in heaven. Queen Elizabeth once wrote “Christ was the words that spoke it, he took the bread and broke it, and what his words did make it, that I believe and take it” (Hinds 22). This Poem displays how Queen Elizabeth believes and worships the Christian god.
Christianity had many changes throughout history. After the death of Jesus around the year 30 his followers preached his stories and spread them through the Middle Eastern world. Christianity really became popular when a roman emperor Constantine converted the whole empire to Christianity in the year 312 AD.
